Liquid Natural Gas Sector Evolving After Volatile Few Years, Report Says

S&P Global Ratings today published a commentary exploring changes in the liquified natural gas (LNG) market after a few turbulent years. LNG saw an overabundance of gas quickly turn to an absence, causing a volatile supply and demand environment.

The LNG sector is experiencing a shift in its contracting, both in type and duration. Portfolio players also increasingly dominate the global market. As the market moves sharply into deficit through 2026, North American LNG is becoming a leader in supply and demand, reinforcing its position as one of three of the world's largest sources of LNG supply.
