Aquatech China, the leading trade show for water professionals in China marks its 10th anniversary in 2017. In boom years and tough times, Aquatech China has retained an incredibly high level of loyalty from Chinese as well as international visitors and exhibitors. The show has grown year on year expecting again to break its own records in 2017 with over 1,900 exhibitors and well over 70,000 visitors. All in all, there is a lot to celebrate
“Aquatech China is set to be a landmark trade event as we celebrate 10 consecutive annual shows,” says Aquatech China Product Manager, Sisi Chou. “We are particularly proud to have set foot in China ten years ago and realized unexpected growth not only in numbers but also in appreciation as a must-attend business platform in a complex market.”
How it started
“Aquatech China started back in 2007 with 291 exhibitors, over 14,000 visitors and 15,000 square meters and these numbers were exceeding all expectations,” says Annette Bos, show director of Aquatech Global Events with RAI Amsterdam. “Over the years, moving from 291 exhibitors to over 1,900 clearly proves we were on the right track from day one. We are extremely proud that for numerous international companies, Aquatech China was the stepping stone into this huge market and the beginning of many successful business stories in China.”
China remains the place to be
Though much has changed in ten years, China is still the place to be, The water market opportunities in China have been highlighted by Global Water Intelligence in its 2016 report, which noted the increased emphasis on water quality issues such as wastewater effluent quality, sludge management and drinking water quality by the government in its latest five yearly targets. “The release of many favourable regulations, policies and laws in 2014 and 2015 have shown the determination of the Chinese authorities to improve the quality of the whole water environment,” it notes. Aquatech China provides the ideal opportunity to build the business relations needed to access this market.
2017 and beyond
The annual growth over 10 years is the result of ongoing consultation with our exhibitors who have the flexibility, diversity and strength to innovate and constantly renew themselves. Organiser RAI Amsterdam is committed to do the same, every year. Always on the lookout for solutions that fit the needs of the industry best. The 2017 will feature the next step in networking: matchmaking, knowledge exchange through new means and a programme for young professionals.
Innovation always centre stage
The China of tomorrow requires innovative and groundbreaking solutions and the China BlueTech Awards Innovation Pavilion showcases topnotch solutions to tens of thousands of show visitors. The awards are organised by BlueTech Research. The overall winners, selected for their innovation and readiness for the Chinese market, will be acknowledged at a special ceremony at the pavilion.
Business – knowledge – network
The Aquatech concept all around the world connects businesses, governments and science and Aquatech China is no exception. It drives business, spreads knowledge and the networking opportunities are second to none. The content at Aquatech China is provided by high-brow speakers and participants including representatives of international financing institutions and development banks, as well as Chinese regulators, government officials, contractors, technology providers, and end-users.
Don’t take our word for it
Here are some quotes of what some of our exhibitors had to say on Aquatech China:
“A great visitor attendance this year, with amazing opportunities to meet our customers and build new relationships,” commented Claire Zhang of Evoqua Water Technologies.
Peter Clinckemalie, of first time exhibitor Pollet Water Group, said: “The target of this first participation in Aquatech China was to find out if Asia could be one of Pollet Water Group’s markets for the future. We collected good contacts to achieve this.”
“It is a great event where Chinese and international companies can meet and do business together,” added Tony Huang of trade organisation RCRO.
