interCOGEN® - Germany’s leading cogeneration trade fair has begun

02 mar 2017
interCOGEN® - as a „pure“ cogeneration trade fair – is unique within Europe. It is devoted exclusively to the topic of cogeneration and this year, the focus lies on modernization, digitalization and flexibility. More than 2,000 attendees are expected, as well as more than 300 professionals, who will meet around 70 exhibitors and 50 speakers. The sponsor of the event is the Minister for the Environment of the State of Baden-Württemberg Franz Untersteller, MdL

After a successful kick-off in 2016, the second interCOGEN® conference will take place in the KarlsruheExhibitionCenter on June 28 and 29, 2017. It is the only "pure" CHP fair in Germany to date. Due to the successful first event, further internationalization is emphasized this year. The interCOGEN®’s advisory committee, which consists of leading companies, institutions and associations of the combined heat and power industry, was also very satisfied with the launch and is again heavily supporting the second event.

At it’s second trade fair advisory committee meeting for the interCOGEN® 2017 in Stuttgart, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, the members of the InterCOGEN® advisory board confirmed the unique position in Europe. The interest among the public at the 2016 event was huge, discussions and contacts with the exhibitors and referendums were very fruitful, and many were able to expand their own network. The focus of the meeting was, therefore, the further development and expansion of the InterCOGEN® into a nationwide and international event. This also includes integrating political representatives. This will take place in 2017 through the public and politically oriented cogeneration talk "The contribution of the cogeneration to the energy transition". The successful concept of the two-day cogeneration conference and the forum for exhibitors will be continued and expanded to include the controversial topics of digitization, flexibilization and marketing.

There are intense efforts to extend the exhibition to the thermal power station and fuel cell industry. Furthermore, both medium and large-scale manufacturers as well as end-consumer manufacturers and direct marketers will be increasingly promoted. The municipalities as the direct users are also the focus in 2017. Community booths will be used to acquire new exhibitors. The exhibitor advisory board working groups "Politics", "Exhibitors", "Congress" and "PR" heavily influenced the trade fair in terms of design and the topics discussed at the fair. Digitization, EU regulations and national laws also drive the cogeneration sector.
