LNG for a Sustainable Energy Future: LNG2019 Call for Abstracts Now Open

03 ott 2017
The natural gas industry strives to play an important role in the rising global demand for reliable and cleaner sources of energy. The 19th International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG2019) aims to highlight and discuss how the industry can adapt to the changing landscape and play a major role in creating a sustainable energy future

In April 2019 Shanghai will host the triennial event, supported by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and hosted by the China LNG Association, China Gas Society, The Chinese Association of Refrigeration and the China Gas Association.

“It’s a great honour to have been selected to host the conference,” commented Professor An-Zhong Gu, Chairman of the LNG2019 National Organising Committee, “and we are very happy that it is also being supported by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.”
Dr Nirmal Chatterjee, Chairman of the LNG2019 Programme Committee, says “We are delighted to announce the launch of Call for Abstracts. The future of LNG never looked brighter. We welcome submissions from the entire LNG spectrum across all levels and we encourage specialists to showcase their expertise”. The Call for Abstracts opened on 20 September 2017, inviting industry experts worldwide to submit abstracts relating to topics defined by the Committee. These topics include Supply, Demand & Contracting Strategies, Emissions Policies, Floating Liquefaction, Advances in Technology, LNG Shipping, Storage and Transportation among many others.

The abstracts received will be reviewed by the Programme Committee and selected papers will be incorporated into the programme along with invited senior level speakers. The deadline for submission is 24 April 2018.

China is the world’s fastest growing LNG market, and Shanghai is expected to attract 11,000 attendees from 550 organisations. Shanghai plays a very important role in China’s LNG industry because of its LNG terminals and its large ship-building capacity. As China’s economic centre and LNG industry pioneer, the city has been engaged in constant efforts to complete LNG development systems and become a major LNG hub.

In addition to the conference, the LNG2019 exhibition will host more than 300 international exhibitors covering the entire spectrum of the LNG industry, including specialist pavilions such as the Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) Pavilion and the Marine Technology Pavilion.
