The event focused on corrosion protection in the Oil & Gas industry was held at the Magazzini del Cotone in Genoa (Italy) on 29-31 May 2016. The event was organized by NACE Milano Italia Section with the sponsorship of the Italian Institute of Welding (IIS), Centro Inox and Industrial Valves Summit (IVS), and has represented a unique forum for engineers, technicians and end-users operating in the field of corrosion prevention in various applications, from down hole to pipelines and refinery

The conference was attended by more than 300 participants coming from 23 countries, both European and non-European (North and South America, Japan, Australia) and from 146 Companies. It was developed in three parallel sessions, with the presentation of technical papers distributed among seven subjects of great impact: Oil & Gas Pipeline, Coating Technology, Cathodic Protection, Welding, Oil Refinery, Oil & Gas Downhole, and Failure Analysis.

On the whole the event, which conformed the conventional layout of a technical conference built around an Expo, was a great success thanks to the support of 25 sponsors and 42 exhibitors covering the complete range of products and services addressed to the corrosion prevention, from the protective coatings, to cathodic protection, laboratory analysis, inspection and testing instruments, mechanical engineering, inspection and repair, coating consulting and inspection, sealing, and painting contractors.

The event started with a Welcome Cocktail that had as background the evolution of the dolphins of the Genoa Aquarium attended by more than 200 people, and then the next evening continued with a Gala Dinner, attended by more than 100 people, in one of the most beautiful and prestigious old villas of Genoa surrounded by music from a guitar duo. At the conclusion of the event Centro Inox delivered a technical speech on "Stainless Steel in the Wine Industry", followed by a delicious closing wine tasting offered by the Tuscany Cinciano winery.
