ONHYM’s interview: What to expect from the Morocco Oil & Gas 2014 Summit

Why do you feel the Morocco Oil & Gas 2014 Summit is a key event for the oil and gas industry?
In a context of an escalating exploration activity in Morocco, the Summit matches the current dynamic of oil and gas industry in the country. This event will attract oil and gas companies looking for excellent opportunities to develop partnerships. It will also be a unique platform for addressing a number of key issues.

What’s next for the ONHYM in the coming months, after signing a Petroleum agreement with Repsol and a Reconnaissance contract with Chariot Oil & Gas?
Currently, ONHYM is negotiating contracts on different exploration blocks. 
Many partnerships are expected to be concluded during the next few months.
 
What are you expecting from this gathering of the main players in the Moroccan oil and gas sector?
We expect the Morocco Oil & Gas 2014 Summit to be a great opportunity for oil & gas companies operating in Morocco and other companies willing to invest in Morocco todiscover the untapped potential of the Moroccan subsoil. ONHYM representatives will be presenting different aspects of the E&P activities in Morocco.

Can you envision new collaborations as a result of the Summit?
One of our objectives through this event is to widely present Morocco’s potential with the aim to 
attract new investors to explore Moroccan sedimentary basins. We have already made good progress by attracting 34 companies including IOC majors as well as significant independents. The year 2014 is set to be a landmark for oil and gas exploration in Morocco, with 27 wells being drilled offshore and onshore and an annual exploration budget record exceeding 1 billion US.
