RENEXPO® NMK 2019 trade fair 3rd – 4th Dec 2019 at Aleksandar Palace Hotel, Skopje, North Macedonia
On the third and fourth of December this year, the first RENEXPO® trade fair in Northern Macedonia was held at the Alexander Palace Hotel in Skopje. The fair brought together over 40 exhibitors from all over Europe and the region, and hundreds of conference attendees and visitors. State and international institutions showed great interest, and the opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Koço Angushev, Minister of Economy Kresnik Bekteshi, ambassadors of Germany, China and Slovakia, representatives of other European embassies, European Union offices and financial institutions. RENEXPO® fairs have become a recognized brand in the Western Balkans since 2014, when the first fairs were held in Belgrade and Sarajevo. RENEXPO® is a registered name of REECO International - a subsidiary of REECO GmbH, which has been organizing trade shows and conferences across Europe since 1997. REECO has been a pioneer in promoting renewable energy, new opportunities in waste, water management and new energy efficiency solutions. Thanks to its many years of experience, numerous contacts and reputation in Western Europe, REECO International has succeeded in presenting Skopje as a renewable energy center in this part of Europe. The international character of this fair is also reflected in the list of panelists and presenters at conferences coming from Northern Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Italy, Germany, Austria, Greece and India, who shared their experiences and analyzes of new technical and technological solutions and trends. It is a unique place where you can directly access potential partners and find first-hand information. With a wide network of associates from the region and abroad, every RENEXPO® fair is destined for success. As this was the first RENEXPO® fair in Northern Macedonia, many foreign companies showed interest in demonstrating their technologies and establishing partnerships with local businesses and institutions. The European aspirations of the countries in the region have further contributed to the promotion of renewable energy sources and alignment with standards in the waste management and water treatment sectors. It should be remembered that the EU is very supportive of such efforts, and the RENEXPO fair is a great platform to learn about the experiences, challenges and potentials in these fields and to promote such projects. The neglected maintenance of facilities, equipment and infrastructure throughout the Western Balkans over the last 30 years may not only be perceived as a handicap, but has often been emphasized as a potential for economic growth and investment both in these sectors and in the entire economies of these countries.
