SMAGUA 2019: 24 International water and irrigation exhibition (Zaragoza- Spain)

05 feb 2019
The most important event in water-related matters in the Iberian Peninsula

SMAGUA – the International Water and Irrigation Exhibition – is returning to Zaragoza Exhibition Centre in 2019, with a reputation for being the most important event in water-related matters in the Iberian Peninsula. Forty-five years of technological innovation and business opportunities back this international trade fair, which will be holding its twenty-fourth edition from 5th to 7th February at Aragon’s leading exhibition centre.

Over three days, professionals from the water sector will be able to reap benefits from the best technological platform for exhibiting the most avant-garde infrastructures and equipment on the market. In fact, SMAGUA 2019 is geared to be the meeting point for the entire water industry, that once again turns to this venue to find out all about the latest contributions arising in various fields such as analysis and control and advances in the “Smart Irrigation system”, energy saving, sustainability and environmental care.

The biggest novelty this year will be the staging on the same dates of SPAPER, the first International Exhibition of Machinery and Equipment for pulp, paper and board - a show that brings together the most significant companies and organisations in the paper industry to highlight the importance of their sector while adding to the broad range of exhibits and conferences programmed at SMAGUA.

Therefore, Pavilions 3 and 4 at Zaragoza Exhibition Centre will house the latest innovations exhibited by 625 brands from 29 different countries. In fact, over 60% of the companies present at the water show are from abroad, which reflects SMAGUA’s important international presence. Not surprisingly, this Aragonese trade fair is the only one in the whole of the country to have been distinguished with the Seal of Internationality by the Government of Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

Leading European powers such as the Netherlands and Italy will be present among the nations taking part and will have prominent stands in the show alongside some of the most prestigious international firms.

The number of companies and professionals from around the world are another example of the showcase for the water industry that SMAGUA has become, a venue that combines business opportunities and innovation. In this regard, the Technical Innovations Competition has recognised 20 new products, of which four have been branded with the distinction of ‘outstanding’.

For the first time in SMAGUA, Zaragoza Exhibition Centre is staging an awards ceremony for these distinguished technical innovations in the Exhibition Centre’s Auditorium on 6th February at 18:00h.

The idea of the event is to bring together participating and winning companies, all the members of the Assessment Jury, institutional authorities, academics and specialist press as a way for the Show’s Management to pay tribute to the prize-winners.

SMAGUA has seen a twenty-five percent increase in both the number of participating firms and the size of the exhibition area. On that basis, it has won itself a position on the calendar of trade fairs staged on odd years as a venue for channelling greater growth possibilities into the national and international water market.

As one of the leading institutions that organises international events in Spain, Zaragoza Exhibition Centre can offer professionals a fully comprehensive package in order to make their stay as productive as possible in terms of improving business.

In this regard, apart from the machinery and equipment exhibition, visitors can attend more than twenty technical conferences scheduled in different rooms in the on-site congress area.

In this edition - for the first time – these supplementary activities will also have their own designated areas within the Exhibition Centre facilities. Specifically, the organisers have reserved an area in Pavilion 3 called the “Smagua & Spaper Forum”, where talks and information activities will be held, together with commercial presentations by exhibiting companies.
