The organizers, Inter Expo Center and Bulgarian Water Association, promote the role of WATER SOFIA and the accompanying Conference "Investment Challenges for the WSS Sector - Innovative Solutions and Financial Strategies" in providing services for professionals in search of information, expertise and new technologies for the water industry
The event is an well-established platform for meetings of Bulgarian and international specialists participating in major structural projects in the country.
The most serious resource for the 2014-2020 programming period of the Operational Program "Environment" is concentrated in the water supply and sewerage projects, as stated by Tsonka Dryankova, Head of the program, during the 7-th Discussion Forum "Construction in 2018 - Prospects and Challenges".
The total budget dedicated to the construction of water and sewerage infrastructure is BGN 2.3 billion, as until to now there are published 11 procedures for a total amount of over BGN 881 million.
"The approach in this programming period is quite different, including a change in the legal framework, the consolidation of the water supply and sewerage operators on a regional basis, and the introduction of improved business models in the water and sewerage operators,in their capacity of new beneficiaries under the program, explained Mrs. Dryankova.
