The WGC 2018 team is delighted to announce the appointment of Upstream as the Official Media Partner for the 27th World Gas Conference (WGC2018), which will be held in Washington D.C. on 25-29 June 2018
Upstream, the leading source of quality news for the international oil and gas industry, will produce the event’s daily newspaper, which will be distributed each day during the four-day event. Upstream has a highly experienced team of reporters that has produced show dailies at many of the largest and most reputable industry events over the past 15 years. These include OTC in Houston, ONS in Stavanger, OSEA in Singapore, Rio Oil & Gas, WPC, Gastech, OTC Brasil, LNG 18 and not least the 26th World Gas Conference in Paris last year.
“The 27th World Gas Conference in Washington will be the culmination of our USA Presidency and a continuation of our ongoing efforts to raise the global voice of gas,” commented Jay Copan, Executive Director, WGC 2018. “It was key for us to ensure that the team chosen to be responsible for the Official Daily Newspapers was highly experienced and able to bring our participants quality, unbiased news, interviews and analysis from the event. Once again we are delighted to be partnering with Upstream.”
Owned by the IGU and conducted for over 85 years, the event is the largest gathering of individuals associated with the gas industry across the globe. Over 12,000 representatives of the gas industry, policy makers, customers, NGOs, media, members of the financial community, and others will be in attendance. The conference will include some 500 speakers addressing the most topical strategic, commercial and technical issues facing the international gas industry. Over 350 energy and energy-related companies will host stands in the 40,000 square metre exhibition – the largest gas industry exhibition ever held.
“We are honoured and excited to have been appointed as the Official Media Partner for such a vital event as the World Gas Conference. Quality dailies are a vital ingredient at a high-end event like WGC 2018, and producing such a product requires a large and experienced editorial team with first-hand knowledge of the industry. WGC 2018 will set the backdrop for a high-paced news cycle, and that is Upstream's bread and butter,” said Upstream editor-in-chief Erik Means.
