The market for water supply and drainage treatment technology in China holds great promise for foreign investors. The success of UWT China 2015, which came to a close on September 25 in Shanghai, was further proof: China Leading Trade Fair for Water Supply and Drainage Treatment attracted many national and international exhibitors and visitors

The three days of UWT China 2015, the 5th International Trade Fair for Urban Water Supply, Municipal Pipeline Network, Pool Landscape, Water Purification System, Water and Wastewater Treatment, between September 23 and 25, were another resounding success at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).

The figures for attendance confirm the attractiveness of UWT China 2015. About 20,000 visitors (2014: 18,000) from 29 countries and regions came to the SNIEC on the three days of the show. International buyers in particular were strongly represented at UWT China. There were 3,850 buyers, which included 1,825 buyers from outside the China. Mr. Sudhakaran Nair, Chairman of World Plumbing Council, was very impressed by the trade fair’s diversity: “one of the highlights of my visit this year was the privilege of being part of the inaugural ceremony with other dignitaries. With the traditional drums and lion dance, the ceremony was a feast to the eyes and ears. A brief visit to the well laid out exhibition area revealed that, the great strides China has successfully made in development of their plumbing industry. Some of the products exhibited will be the envy of even the renowned manufacturers of global repute from developed nations.” Furthermore, visitors from outside China also featured strongly at the show. This year there was a further rise in the number of international visitors. After China, the top ten visitor countries were Thailand, India, Germany, Chile, HongKong, Finland, Russia, Korea, Sri Lanka and Singapore.

With another concurrent event ISH Shanghai 2015, the total exhibition space has a total of nearly 24,000 square meters at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. This year’s show gathered 324 exhibitors from 12 countries presented their latest solutions and technologies (2014: 280 exhibitors), which is an increase of 16 percent compared to one year ago. Mr. Liu Shihong, project manager of KSB Pump Co,Ltd, claimed that: “UWT China 2015 was a professional trade show in aspect of water treatment, which provided a thoughtful service to exhibitors and visitors. We found several potential clients during the exhibition. This exhibition offered us a great platform to directly display the products of our company.”

Also attracting great interest, as well as the exhibits at the trade fair, was the scientific and technical conference program. “The speech of each conference is professional and representative, We learned a lot from related conferences, and also met the distributors from Fuzhou and Shanghai,” said Ms. Chen Shanshan, Marketing Manager of SWAN Analytic Instruments. In several conferences and panel discussion, speakers from all over the world gave the trade audience the benefit of their expertise on topical subjects in the water treatment sector. For instance, on the “Wisdom Water Summit”, on September 24, the possible solutions were discussed and options set out for promoting the development of wisdom water program.
